If only

If only I knew then

what you would do

If only I had a clue

and knew the real you

I can say confidently

when you asked for my number

I would have turned

and simply walked away

Or perhaps, if I knew too

that it would always be

forever etched in my memory

I would have run a mile from you

If only I had any clue.

  1. Like you, I wish I’d known so I could have done things differently. In the end, though, we didn’t do anything wrong. It’s important that we remember that. It’s easy to forget, but it makes all the difference.

    Hang in there, please.
